Almost every tour in Zimbabwe leaves from one small town.
Victoria Falls is where the bookings are, so that is where this site lives. What the falls costs on foot, what twenty minutes in a helicopter adds, which cruise feeds you and which one just pours, and whether Chobe repays the border queue.

Across the borderChobe National Park Day Trip with LunchBotswana for the day. Elephants on the Chobe floodplain, passports out twice.from $170
Above the falls the river goes quiet, and every boat on it sells a different hour.
The water is glass for thirty miles upstream of the lip, then it drops. Sunset boats turn at dusk, dinner boats stay out, and the rafts run the gorge underneath when the flood drops out of it.
The good game drives here start across a border or an hour upriver.
Zimbabwe keeps Hwange and the Zambezi National Park; Botswana keeps Chobe, which is the one most people cross for. Nobody promises you cats. What the operators can promise is the floodplain, the elephant herds that use it and a seat that leaves before six.
One mile of falling water, and six different ways of standing near it.
The rim path, the bridge, the gorge floor, the pool on the lip, a rope over the drop and the seat in the helicopter. Each one is a separate booking and they cost nothing like each other.
The trips more travellers take than anything else in Victoria Falls.
Every Zimbabwe review →Helicopters, dinner boats and the Chobe run take the top of this list every month, and the prices below explain why the order never changes much.

What a day at Victoria Falls actually costs.
Every trip on the site grouped by the per-head price. The rim path is the cheapest thing here and the one nobody skips.
The rim path, a village visit, a township walk, a sundowner boat and the transfers between them.
Dinner cruises, the Boma, the canopy tour, a rafting day and the shorter helicopter loops.
The falls has two seasons and they sell two different trips.
February to May the Zambezi is in flood. The curtain is complete, the spray goes up higher than the helicopters fly, and from the rim path you get soaked and see very little rock. August to December the flow drops out. The face appears, the pool on the lip opens, and the gorge below fills with rafts. Pick your season, then book to match it.
Evenings here are a drum, a fire and somebody handing you a mopane worm.
The Boma is the fixed point of a Victoria Falls evening: a set menu that runs from sadza to game meat, drummers between courses and face paint if you sit still for it. The alternative is dinner on the water, or the theatre in town.
Four bookings at Victoria Falls that will not wait for you.
Most of this town can be arranged over breakfast for the same afternoon. These four run on water levels, seat counts and border hours, none of which care what time your flight gets in.
- 01Livingstone Island Tour & Devils PoolThe pool on the lip only exists when the river is low, roughly August to January, and each session takes a handful of people.
- 02Boma Dinner and Drum ShowOne venue, one sitting, a fixed menu. In high season the tables go days ahead.
- 03Helicopter Scenic Flight over Victoria Falls 12-13 minutes FlightFlights leave on a fixed rotation with four or five seats each and the early ones have the clearest air.
- 04Chobe National Park Day Trip with LunchA day in Botswana means a border post twice and a departure before six. Same-day seats are rare.
